April 24, Fineko/abc.az. Rhodium is the most expensive natural metal, and its price exceeds $10,000 per troy ounce, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Russian economist Mikhail Gordienko.

According to the expert, the high cost is explained by the fact that the metal is not mined separately and enters the market as a by-product during the development of platinum and palladium. At the same time, nearly 80% of rhodium is used in automotive catalysts.

Experts note that supply growth is limited in the near future: the market will depend on existing mines and processing, and new projects are being launched with caution. The main reserves are concentrated in South Africa, Russia and Zimbabwe.
