Roadmap developed to improve financial security of population

March 10, Fineko/abc.az. At the next stage of creating a single blacklist database in Azerbaijan and a centralized incident accounting and reporting system to combat fraud in banking and payment systems, it is planned to cover all payment organizations.

ABC.AZ informs that it is also planned to create a single database of the blacklist fraud cases and a centralized incident and reporting system.

According to Zakir Nuriyev, the president of the Association of Banks of Azerbaijan (ABA), these mechanisms will serve as a more systematic and effective organization of information exchange within the sector.

He added that as a result of the use of enhanced customer authentication and security measures, the number of cases of direct seizure of bank accounts by unauthorized persons has significantly decreased. However, it is also observed that scammers have focused their activities more on social engineering methods.

According to the head of the association, taking into account the current challenges, a Roadmap for improving financial security and digital literacy of the population for 2026 was developed and presented to the member banks. This document envisages further strengthening of preventive measures and mechanisms for raising public awareness.
