March 3, Fineko/abc.az. In February 2026, the foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan increased by $50.6 million or 0.44%.
ABC.AZ informs that as of February 28, 2026, CBA's foreign exchange reserves totaled $11.614 billion.
Nevertheless, the CBA was able to restore only 78.3% of the reserves "lost" in the 4th quarter of 2024. During those three months, the total reduction reached $836.3 million. At the same time, the CBA announced that it had made a "special sale" in the amount of $424 million to support demand in the foreign exchange market.
CBA governor Taleh Kazimov stressed that this is not an intervention, but a measure to support the execution of government expenditures in foreign currency.
As of September 30, 2024, CBA's foreign exchange reserves amounted to $11.795 billion.
