January 29, Fineko/abc.az. Certain steps may be taken on application to the Central Bank for purchase of bonds of non-bank credit organizations (NBCOs) by insurance companies.

ABC.AZ reports that Orkhan Bagirov, the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Azerbaijan Capital Markets Association, said this at today’s microfinance forum in Baku.

He added that insurance companies currently do not have the opportunity to buy NBCO bonds: "We, the associations - the Capital Markets Association of Azerbaijan (AKBA), the Microfinance Association of Azerbaijan (AMFA), the Association of Insurers of Azerbaijan (ASA) and the Association of Banks of Azerbaijan - can jointly apply to the Central Bank. This is necessary because there is demand from both sides, both buyers and sellers. This issue can be considered especially after the preparation of a bill related to the creation of a National Rating Organization," Bagirov emphasized.
