January 27, Fineko/abc.az. In 2025, the insurance premiums on compulsory motor insurance in Azerbaijan totaled 182.11 million manats (8.6% more than in 2024) and the compensation payments - 137.59 million manats (nearly 75.5% of premiums), ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Central Bank.

The payments for 2024 reached 137.59 million manats (5.8% more than a year earlier).

Looking at the loss ratio, we can say that in 2025, the ratio of payments to premiums was 75.6%, which indicates that the situation in the compulsory car insurance sector has improved somewhat for companies. However, this is still considered a risky ratio.

The compulsory car insurance premiums totaled 113.84 million manats and compensation payments - 90.28 million manats in 2022, respectively 170.93 million manats and 97.91 million manats in 2023, 167.71 million manats and 129.99 million manats in 2024.

Thus, although the loss ratio dropped from 79.8% in 2022 to 57.3% in 2023, it rose again to 77.6% in 2024.
