January 26, Fineko/abc.az. The Integrated Drilling Operations Trust (KBR) of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan has updated the record in drilling operations.

ABC.AZ informs, referring to the trust, that drilled side well No. 28a at the Western Absheron field is registered as the well with the longest horizontal open bore (522 m) in SOCAR's history to date.

Drilling was carried out by order of the Azneft Production Association of SOCAR.

Previous record high (515 m) was registered at the end of 2025 in well No. 25a drilled in the same field. Thus, the KBR has set a new record.

Western Absheron field is being developed by the Absheronneft Oil & Gas Production Division (NGDU) of Azneft.
