January 14, Fineko/abc.az. Turkish state-owned and private banks have begun to massively issue cards of national payment system Troy by default, following the presidential decree of January 2025.

ABC.AZ informs that the new practice applies even to those customers who initially request a Visa or Mastercard: in 70-80% of cases, banks first issue a local card, forcing users to cancel it in order to obtain an international equivalent. At the moment, the Troy system unites 55 banks and ensures up to 20% of all payments in the country, demonstrating explosive growth against the background of abandonment of global payment systems.
