Minister: We are not satisfied with current assessment of international rating agencies

December 30, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan is not satisfied with the current position of international rating agencies, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Finance Minister Sahil Babayev.

"International rating agencies highly appreciated our country's sustainable fiscal policy, reducing dependence on oil and bringing foreign exchange reserves to $84 billion. Fitch has assigned Azerbaijan an investment rating with outlook Stable, while Moody's - outlook Positive. We believe that this clearly demonstrates Azerbaijan's financial stability, strong fiscal position and monetary stability. Of course, we disagree with these figures. We believe that our currency buffer, financial stability, growth in non-oil revenues and socio-economic stability allow us to claim even higher indicators, and work with international rating agencies will continue in this direction," he said.
