December 22, Fineko/abc.az. Turkey is considering the possibility of merging two state-owned Islamic banking banks - Ziraat Katılım and Vakıf Katılım - as well as the newly created Halk Katılım Bankası under the management of the National Welfare Fund.

ABC.AZ informs that the model of unification can be similar to the creation of the insurance company Turkiye Sigorta.

The demand for Islamic finance has increased the share of such banks in the sector to 10%, and the authorities plan to increase it to 15%. Earlier, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced his intention to turn Istanbul into a global financial center.
