November 25, Fineko/abc.az. On the Central Azeri platform, we are drilling BP's longest horizontal well in the region, a 1.1 km horizontal section with an innovative sand filter.

ABC.AZ informs that Giovanni Cristofoli, BP's Regional President for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey (AGT), made this statement at the SPE 2025 Caspian Technical Conference in Baku.

He pointed out that new vehicles, robots, and drones are being introduced to check underwater pipelines: "We use digital twins for optimal operation of facilities, since as production in the fields decreases, even an increase in pressure at the top unit of just 1 bar (10 psi) can significantly affect production volumes. And this requires precise optimization down to the smallest detail. And here digital technologies play a key role."
