November 20, Fineko/abc.az. In Azerbaijan, the three sectors most susceptible to cyber threats are financial institutions, the public sector and the technology sector. Of the 100 cyberattacks in the country, about 12 are against financial institutions.

ABC.AZ informs that Mastercard Vice President Reshat Kokchan announced this at the IX International Banking Forum in Baku.

He added that the purpose of the attacks is to disrupt business continuity, gain access to critical information and use it for financial gain.

Mastercard's specialized cybersecurity consulting teams have also implemented various projects with Azerbaijani banks. The company also announced that its new Mastercard product Threat Intelligence is now available for Azerbaijani banks. The product tracks cards sold on the Dark Web and Deep Web, analyzes the traces of card movement in the Mastercard ecosystem, and aims to proactively notify banks of fraud risks.
