Copper Drops to $14,173/t on Fed Rate Hike Bets

September 14, Fineko/abc.az. Three-month copper futures on the LME fell 0.5% to $14,173 per ton as strong U.S. inflation data fueled expectations of an upcoming Fed rate hike.

A stronger dollar and easing physical supply tightness weighed on base metals. Concurrently, zinc dropped 1.3%, while iron ore fell 0.5% to $96.90 per ton.
