November 19, Fineko/abc.az. Pakistan Petroleum Ltd. began construction of the country's first artificial island in the Arabian Sea to expand offshore exploration.
ABC.AZ informs that a 1.8 m high platform is being constructed 300 km from the coast of Sindh, which will allow drilling around the clock and protect equipment from tides. The work will be completed in February, then drilling will begin - nearly 25 wells are planned. The project is inspired by the Abu Dhabi experience.
Activity in the industry increased after U.S. President Donald Trump's statement about Pakistan's great oil potential; exploration licenses were awarded to PPL, Mari Energies and Prime International.
