Zakir Nuriyev: Transactions through national payment systems amount to 590 bn manats

Digitalization, in particular, development of the digital payments ecosystem and the growing share of cashless payments every day are also important indicators of progress for us. As a result of the reforms carried out, the infrastructure of the national payment system, namely the total turnover of payment transactions processed through AZIPS, XOHKS and AOHS, continues to expand.

Thus, for Jan-Sept 2025, the volume of payments through national payment systems amounted to 590 billion manats and increased by 9.4 percent against the 2024 same term.

ABC.AZ reports that the president of the Association of Banks of Azerbaijan, Zakir Nuriyev, state dabout this at the IX International Banking Forum.

According to Nuriyev, during this period, the volume of payment card transactions within the country reached 72.2 billion manats (29.1% more than in the 3rd quarter of last year). This rapid growth also grew the share of non-cash payments in the overall amount of payments by 4 percentage points up to 67.4%.
