November 19, Fineko/abc.az. By the end of the third quarter of 2025, the assets of the banking sector increased by 10.4% compared to 12 months, exceeding the historical threshold for the first time and increasing to 56.1 bn manats.

The main share of this increase belongs to the loan portfolio, which accounts for more than half of the assets.

ABC.AZ reports that the president of the Association of Banks of Azerbaijan, Zakir Nuriyev, made the above-said statement at the IX International Banking Forum.

He pointed out that over the same period, the loan portfolio grew by 9.6% and reached 29.3 bn manats. The remaining volume of business loans also increased by 1.1 bn manats up to 15.5 bn manats. During this period, deposits of individuals in banks amounted to 15.4 bn manats and term deposits - 9.7 bn (11% and 18% more, respectively, versus the 2024 same term). The level of dollarization of household savings decreased from 34.6% to 32.3%. Banks' capital grew by 14 percent against 2024 and reached 7.2 bn manats. Following the first 3 quarters of this year, the net profit of the banking sector also increased by 8.2% up to 911 million manats.
