October 27, Fineko/abc.az. Georgia's tourism sector is projected to bring in $4.6 bn this year, ABC.AZ informs, referring to the Galt & Taggart Weekly Review.
According to statistics published by the National Bank of Georgia, tourism revenues in the 3rd quarter of this year totaled $1.7 bn (6.6% more than a year earlier). From January to September, $3.6 bn was earned from tourism (5.1% more than 1 year ago).
The Galt & Taggart Review highlights that in the previous forecast, Georgia's revenues from the tourism sector were estimated at $4.5 bn.
Company's experts note that steady growth of Georgia's tourism sector is making an important contribution to country's economy, and this trend is expected to continue in the coming years.
