October 9, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has restricted the license of processing center Azericard LLC, based on an appeal from the company itself.

ABC.AZ informs with reference to the CBA that on September 12, 2024, the company was granted licenses No. ÖSO-001 for activity of payment system operator, and No. EPT-011 for acquiring payment transactions, issuing electronic money and conducting transactions with them.

Based on the appeal of the organization, by CBA’s decision from October 8, 2025, the payment service for "issuing electronic money and performing payment operations with electronic money" was canceled in its license. Thus, Azericard will continue its activities not as an electronic money organization, but as a payment organization and payment system operator.
