September 8, Fineko/abc.az. Discussions have been held between the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the China Investment Corporation (CIC) to define specific areas of cooperation and outline the next steps for implementing joint projects.

ABC.AZ informs, citing SOFAZ, that a delegation led by SOFAZ Executive Director Israfil Mammadov met with Qin Song Zhang, Chairman and CEO of CIC, to advance collaboration between the two institutions.

The Memorandum of Understanding signed between SOFAZ and CIC during Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s state visit to China in April 2025 represents a key milestone in strengthening institutional cooperation between the sovereign wealth funds of both countries. The agreement also serves to reinforce Azerbaijan–China partnership by establishing strategic frameworks for knowledge and experience sharing, creating sustainable investment models based on shared values, and promoting mutually beneficial investment initiatives.
