August 29, Fineko/abc.az. In the first half of this year, the STAR oil refinery, an asset of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Turkey, imported more than 5,199,829 tons of crude oil, which accounts for 20.56% of Turkey’s total imports.

According to ABC.AZ, citing the Energy Market Regulatory Authority of Turkey (EPDK), the volume of crude oil imported for the STAR refinery was 230,835 tons or 4.2% less compared to the first half of 2024.

In June this year, STAR refinery imported about 891,977 tons of crude oil, which is 29,624 tons (3.4%) more than in the same period of 2024.

Overall, in January–June this year, oil refineries in Turkey imported about 15,402,714 tons of crude oil, and in June — about 2,922,327 tons. This is 415,223 tons (2.6%) less and 80,652 tons (2.8%) more, respectively, compared to the same period of 2024.
