CNOOC revenue drops 8.5% despite gas production growth

August 28, Fineko/abc.az. The revenue of Chinese oil and gas company CNOOC fell by 8.5% in the first half of the year to 207.61 billion yuan ($28.8 billion).

According to ABC.AZ, this is stated in the company’s report.

Revenue from oil and gas sales decreased by 7.2% year-on-year to 171.745 billion yuan during the reporting period.

Net profit attributable to shareholders also declined, dropping 12.8% year-on-year to 69.533 billion yuan. Meanwhile, gas production volumes rose by 12%, while total net production increased by 6.1% year-on-year.

On the Shanghai Stock Exchange, CNOOC shares fell by 2.04% today, while the company’s market capitalization has decreased by 13.7% since the beginning of the year.
