August 25, Fineko/abc.az. In the first half of this year, oil pipeline losses in Azerbaijan amounted to 2.3 thousand tons, which is 4.5% more than a year earlier. According to ABC.AZ, citing data from the State Statistics Committee, in the same period of 2024, pipeline losses across the republic totaled 2.2 thousand tons. In January–June this year, 18.513 million tons of oil were transported through pipelines in Azerbaijan, 3.8% less year-on-year.
Of this, 75.2% was transported through the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, which accounted for 13.9249 million tons, also 3.8% less than a year earlier. Last year, oil pipeline losses in Azerbaijan amounted to 4.5 thousand tons, 18.4% higher than a year before. In 2024, 38.7521 million tons of oil were transported through pipelines in Azerbaijan, 2.5% less year-on-year. Of this, 76% went through BTC, which carried 29.4709 million tons, down 2.4% compared to the previous year.
