August 21, Fineko/abc.az. Norwegian oil and gas company Aker BP has announced a significant discovery at the Yggdrasil field in the North Sea. According to ABC.AZ, drilling at the “Omega Alpha” prospect confirmed recoverable reserves of 96–134 million barrels of oil equivalent.

According to the operator’s estimates, this is one of the most significant commercial discoveries in Norway over the past decade, Reuters reports. Exploration was conducted across three license blocks. The company stated that it plans to continue geological exploration in the Yggdrasil area to identify new deposits.
