August 19, Fineko/abc.az. In January–July of this year, 1,477.9 thousand foreigners and people without citizenship from 182 countries of the world visited Azerbaijan, the State Statistics Committee told APA.
According to the information, this is a decrease of 1.7 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
26.1 percent of the visitors were from the Russian Federation, 17.1 percent from Türkiye, 8.1 percent from India, 7.9 percent from Iran, 4.2 percent from Saudi Arabia, 4.1 percent from Georgia, 4.0 percent from Kazakhstan, 3.2 percent from Pakistan, 2.3 percent from China, 2.0 percent each from Israel and Uzbekistan, 1.8 percent from the United Arab Emirates, 1.4 percent from Ukraine, 1.3 percent from Turkmenistan, 1.0 percent each from Belarus and Kuwait, and 12.5 percent were citizens of other countries. Of the visitors, 66.5 percent were men, and 33.5 percent were women.
Compared to the same period of the previous year, the number of visitors from Tajikistan increased by 1.9 times, from Israel by 1.7 times, from China by 1.6 times, from Japan by 42.9 percent, from Kyrgyzstan by 36.0 percent, from Jordan by 28.7 percent, from Kazakhstan by 20.6 percent, from Uzbekistan by 19.8 percent, from the Netherlands by 16.3 percent, from Pakistan by 16.1 percent, from Canada by 15.8 percent, from the United States by 15.6 percent, from Germany by 13.2 percent, from Italy by 10.9 percent, and from South Korea by 10.8 percent.
Compared to January–July 2024, the number of visitors from European Union member states increased by 7.0 percent, reaching 61.0 thousand people; the number of visitors from Gulf countries decreased by 8.3 percent to 237.4 thousand people; the number of visitors from CIS countries decreased by 6.0 percent to 522.7 thousand people; and the number of visitors from other countries increased by 4.1 percent, reaching 656.8 thousand people.
Among foreigners and people without citizenship who visited our country, 75.5 percent used air transport, 23.1 percent used railway and road transport, and 1.4 percent used sea transport.
