UK approves investments in Sizewell C nuclear power plant for £38 bn

July 22, Fineko/abc.az. The UK government has finally approved investments in the construction of nuclear power plant Sizewell C worth £38 billion.

ABC.AZ informs that the project will be a key element in achieving country's climate and energy goals.

The state will retain a 45% stake, while the rest of the financing will be provided by private and public investors, including EDF, CDPQ, Centrica and Amber Infrastructure. Energy Minister Ed Miliband called the project an important step towards energy independence and clean energy for decades to come.
