July 21, Fineko/abc.az. As of January 1, 2025, investments of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) in gold bars totaled 21.2 billion manats (83% more than on January 1, 2024), ABC.AZ informs, referring to SOFAZ’s annual report.

During the year, the share of gold bars in company's assets grew from 12% up to 20.5%.

In October 2024, the Fund decided to continue investing in gold in its investment portfolio in order to diminish the negative impact of geopolitical risks and changing market trends, as well as increase portfolio diversification. From the beginning of fiscal year 2025 to the date of approval of these consolidated financial statements, 989,000 troy ounces of gold were purchased.
