July 8, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan is planning to review the structure of electricity and natural gas tariffs, while introducing a fixed fee of 1 manat will not create an additional financial burden for the main consumers from among the population.
ABC.AZ informs that Deputy Minister of Energy Orkhan Zeynalov made this statement at the plenary session of the extraordinary session of the parliament.
He added that the costs associated with the fixed tariff are already covered by active subscribers within the current pricesThe deputy minister noted that in Azerbaijan, the installation of meters for household consumers is carried out at the expense of the supplying company, "while in Turkey, Russia and Georgia, these costs are borne by the consumers themselves".
Zeynalov stressed that each consumer creates certain technical costs when connected to the network, regardless of the volume of consumption.
"In this regard, a fair question arises: why should the costs of passive subscribers be covered by other consumers?" Zeynalov asks.
In his opinion, the revision of the tariff model, taking into account economic feasibility and fairness, will make it possible to form a more balanced and affordable pricing system in the future.
