TotalEnergies: Europe to be able to do without Russian gas by 2028

July 7, Fineko/abc.az. Europe will be able to resist the ban on Russian gas imports proposed by the European Commission from 2028.

ABC.AZ informs that the head of TotalEnergies SE, pointing to development of new liquefied natural gas export capacities in the U.S. and Qatar.

"We will be able to ensure the security of supplies to Europe without Russian LNG in 2028 thanks to the new facilities being built in these two countries," CEO Patrick Pouyanne said.

Despite the fact that Russia is no longer the largest supplier of gas to the bloc, it still provides almost 20% of European demand.

TotalEnergies currently imports LNG to Europe from the U.S. and Russia.
