Two international financial organizations plan to issue bonds in local currency

July 4, Fineko/abc.az. Two international financial organizations, in which Azerbaijan is a member, are planning to issue bonds in local currency.

ABC.AZ informs that Fuad Jafarov, the Director of the Strategy & Project Management Department of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, made the relevant statement.

He added that a draft amendment to the Rules for the issuance, mass offering and circulation of investment securities of international organizations in which Azerbaijan is a member is currently being prepared.

"This year, our main goal will be to ensure financial stability in the country and implement initiatives that support the sustainable development of the financial sector. Thus, such areas as the development of banking, insurance, and capital markets, strengthening regulatory and institutional frameworks, improving financial literacy among citizens, and expanding international cooperation will be among the top priorities," Jafarov emphasized.

Referring to international cooperation in the field of capital markets, Department’s director stressed that the Central Bank plans to sign a memorandum of understanding in order to obtain the status of a privileged member of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).
