May 27, Fineko/abc.az. As of May 1, 2025, the assets of the banking sector of Azerbaijan amounted to 54.607 billion manats.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, that the figure is 10.9% more than on May 1, 2024.

Net loans given to customers totaled 26.442 billion manats of banks' assets. Over Jan-Apr 2025, sector's loan portfolio has grown by 13.9%, and the share of loans in assets from 47.2% up to 48.4%.

The banking sector's liabilities increased by 11% and reached 47.625 billion manats, including the deposit portfolio by 3.9% up to 36.747 billion manats. Of them, 14.547 billion manats are deposits from individuals, and 22.19 billion manats are deposits from legal entities.

During this year, household funds in banks increased by 10.1%, while company funds in banks by 0.2%.

Banks' obligations to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan decreased 94.2-fold, to 500,000 manats. The balance sheet capital of the sector grew by 10.4% up to 6.98 billion manats.
