April 3, Fineko/abc.az. American technology giant Amazon has made an offer to purchase social network TikTok, ABC.AZ reports, referring to The New York Times.

Speech is about full buyout of TikTok's American assets. A letter with Amazon's willingness to purchase the social network was sent to U.S. Vice President JD Vance and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.

The parties involved in the negotiations, the newspaper writes, do not take this proposal seriously, however, Amazon is the largest company that has expressed a desire to acquire TikTok.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump said that he would not like to block TikTok, and expressed confidence that a deal on the sale of the platform would be concluded.

After his inauguration on January 20, Trump signed an executive order that aims to delay the blocking of this platform in the U.S. for at least 75 days (until April 5). He also told journalists that the States should be entitled to half of TikTok, but did not explain exactly what that meant.
