April 1, Fineko/abc.az. India is looking for alternatives to Russian oil because of Donald Trump's threats to impose additional sanctions against Russia.

ABC.AZ informs that Bloomberg writes about this, citing sources.

Speech is about state-owned Bharat Petroleum Corp. (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corp. (HPL). According to the agency, they are looking for additional supplies from the North and Mediterranean Seas and the Middle East.

At the same time, in recent years, Russian oil supplies have reduced India's dependence on imports from the Middle East and Africa. From April 2024 to March 2025, Russia overtook the UAE and became the largest supplier of oil to India: the share increased from 14% to 57%.
