March 12, Fineko/abc.az. Over the past three years, the loan portfolio of microbusiness, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Azerbaijan has increased by 46%, which is equivalent to average annual growth of more than 15%.
ABC.AZ informs that CBA general director Fuad Isayev said about this at the 1st National Financial Accessibility Forum.
According to Isayev, in recent years, the government has taken a range of measures to support SMEs, including loan guarantee mechanisms, concessional loans and subsidized interest rates.
"These instruments contribute to reducing credit risks, and are also accompanied by regulatory easing by the Central Bank. As of the end of 2024, the volume of loans given by banks to SMEs has reached 6.5 billion manats," Isayev said.
He adedd that at the moment, 485 bank branches, 88 sub-branches and 304 branches of non-bank credit organizations render financial services to entrepreneurs.
