January 10, Fineko/abc.az. By the presidential orders, Samir Sharifov, who served as Finance Minister for many years, was relieved of his post and appointed Deputy Prime Minister.

ABC.AZ reports that commenting on his new appointment, Sharifov thanked President Ilham Aliyev.

"Mr. President has placed great trust in me. I will try to justify this trust. I cannot yet say in which area I will lead as a deputy. These issues will be considered by the PM and coordinated with Mr. President. I hope this will become clear next week," Sharifov said.

Samir Sharifov has worked as Finance Minister for 19 years.
