Fico: As soon as Ukraine stops gas transit, gas will rise in price

November 20, Fineko/abc.az. Zelensky completely ruled out the possibility of further gas transit through Ukraine.

ABC.AZ informs that Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated to journalists after the EU summit.

"He [Zelensky] absolutely ruled it out and made proposals that seem absurd to me. This means, for example, that he will agree to this [continued transit] only if we do not pay [gas suppliers] until the end of the war. What kind of fool will provide us with gas for free?" Fico said.

He added that the Kiev authorities, by blocking continuation of gas transit through Ukrainian territory, are harming Slovakia's national economic interests and may harm the European bloc as a whole.

"As soon as Ukraine stops gas transit, gas prices will rise. It will be painful for the whole EU," Fico said.

At that, according to Fico, there is no consensus in the community on the topic of continuing gas supplies through Ukraine.
