November 26, Fineko/abc.az. Indonesia is not satisfied with Apple's offer of $100 million in investments to lift the ban on the sale of iPhone 16 in the country, ABC.AZ informs, quoting Indonesian Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita.
"According to the technocratic assessment, the volume of investments does not correspond to the figure that we consider fair," the minister said.
According to the minister, the profit from the sale of Apple products in the Indonesian market is "quite large".
Indonesia has a ban on the sale of iPhone 16 smartphones. At that, the import of smartphones by crew members and passengers of vehicles for personal use, as well as devices sent by mail, is allowed. No more than two iPhone 16s are allowed for transportation per person. Their further sale in Indonesia is strictly prohibited.
