November 21, Fineko/abc.az. Beko is going to lay off 1,935 employees.
ABC.AZ reports that company’s officials made this statemernt at a meeting organized by the Italian Ministry of Industry. There are currently 4,400 Beko employees in Italy.
Beko Europe approved the reduction and said that operations in Italy showed poor financial performance due to difficult industrial conditions, including increased competition from companies in Asia and weakening demand.
Stating that the capacity utilization rate of factories in Italy is below 40%, which is not sustainable, the company announced that it would change its activities in Italy to demonstrate a long-term sustainable presence, and invest 110 million euros in this.
