October 25, Fineko/abc.az. Romanian Energy Minister Sebastian-Ioan Burduja said his country does not import "a single molecule" of Russian gas, noting that it receives gas from Azerbaijan through Türkiye.
ABC .AZ reports that a government member told TV channel Digi24 about this.
Although the minister pointed out that some of Romania's neighbors have no choice regarding Russian gas, he stressed that Bucharest has appealed to Azerbaijan for gas.
"Romania does not import a single molecule of Russian gas, and this is how all European states should behave. Of course, we have neighbors who say they have no choice but to continue importing [natural gas] from Russia. In general, we import through Bulgaria, that is, it is gas that comes from Türkiye via large highways, including gas from Azerbaijan, although as soon as it enters Türkiye, it is considered Turkish gas," the energy minister said.
