Wheat imported in Azerbaijan has fallen in price by 18%

October 16, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Sept 2024, Azerbaijan imported 758,956 tons of wheat.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Customs Committee that for the past 9 months of 2024, the value of imported wheat reached $166.45 million (4.2% less in volume and 21% less in cost versus Jan-Sept 2023).

So, if for 9 months of 2023 the average price per ton of wheat imported in Azerbaijan was $266, then for 9 months of 2024 the average price of a ton of imported wheat was $219 (a drop of about 18%).

Wheat import expenses made up 1.14% of Azerbaijan's total import expenses.
