Iran expressed readiness to develop cooperation in energy sector with Russia and BRICS

September 25, Fineko/abc.az. Iran intends to develop cooperation with Russia and other BRICS countries in the energy sector.

ABC.AZ reports that Iranian Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi made this statement upon arrival in Moscow to participate in a meeting with representatives of the energy departments of the countries of the association.

"Iran cooperates with Russia in the north, and also deals with China through it. In the south, we cooperate with Saudi Arabia and the UAE. In this regard, Iran's location is attractive for development and strengthening of cooperation between BRICS and the Islamic Republic in the energy sector," news agency Iran quotes Abbas Aliabadi as saying.

The minister said that the association is a very "important institution from different sides", including the economic one.

According to the Iranian Energy Minister, at the upcoming meeting with his colleagues from the BRICS countries, Iran will present a plan for development of industrial and technical cooperation, paying special attention to renewable energy sources.
