August 22, Fineko/abc.az. Türkiye has broken new records for daily oil and gas production, according to country's Minister of Energy, Alparslan Bayraktar.

"As part of the national policy in the energy and mining sectors, we are moving forward resolutely to end dependence on foreign energy resources through our own means and capabilities. New records have been set in daily oil and gas production," the minister wrote on his social media page on X.

According to the infographic provided by Bayraktar, the record for daily oil output was set on August 17, when 107,621 barrels were produced. And on August 15, the maximum gas volumes of 7.609 million cubic meters were extracted.

In recent years, Türkiye has intensified exploration of gas and oil fields on its territory, as well as in the Black Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean.
