June 4, Fineko/abc.az. The State Customs Committee has introduced system Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) on the electronic customs clearance platform, which is necessary for assigning a global product number.

ABC.AZ reports that the option will allow taxpayers in Azerbaijan to create their own virtual electronic warehouse.

The Committee stated that the use of GTIN will be useful primarily for entrepreneurs in terms of increasing transparency, speeding up and simplifying business processes.

In addition, the introduction of GTIN in the country will create conditions to prevent the import and production of counterfeit products, the SCC considers.
