January 23, Fineko/abc.az. Starting from January 20, 2024, bp launched a 4D seismic exploration program at the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) field block in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea.
ABC.AZ was informed at the company that taking into account the area of the studied territory, the cost and timing of seismic surveys, this project is the largest program for collecting seismic data of all implemented by bp in the world so far.
The 4D seismic exploration program is aimed at exploring the productive layers Balakhani and Fasil on the ACG block. It will cover an area of 740 sq km under the seismic source and 507 sq km under the receivers.
The total cost of the program is about $370 million, and the implementation period - five years (2024-2028).
The seismic research program will be carried out by Caspian Geo LLC.
