January 12, Fineko/abc.az. Over the past 20 years, the Entrepreneurship Development Fund under the Ministry of Economy has given more than 3 bn manats of concessional loans to finance more than 45,600 investment projects of business entities.
ABC.AZ reports that the statement was made by Mammad Musayev, the president of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan (ASK).
He added that more than 176,000 new jobs were created due to funded projects. Of them, more than 80% are in the regions.
"The development of entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan has become one of the most important elements of regional economic policy. Speaking about the new socio-economic reality of the regions, first of all, it should be noted the successful implementation of state programs for the socio-economic development of the regions, implemented in the country since 2004. Over the past years, infrastructure projects have been successfully implemented in cities and districts, villages and towns, consistent measures have been taken to improve the living conditions of the country's citizens, and currently the scale of such projects is expanding. Since 2004, more than 52,000 new enterprises and more than 1.8 million new jobs have been created in the regions," Musayev said.
