December 26, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Nov 2023, Azerbaijan produced about 2 billion eggs, which fully meets the demand for this product in the country, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Murvat Hasanli, the chairman of the Association of Poultry Meat & Egg Producers & Exporters (APEPEA).

According to Hasanli, Azerbaijan is increasing egg supplies to the Russian market (1.2 million eggs were delivered in December):

"This will not affect the domestic market in any way, since excess eggs are exported."

Association’s head said that Azerbaijan also imports small batches of eggs:

"In 2022, the country imported only 1.27 million eggs, and 1.5 million in 10 months of this year."

Regarding the increase in prices in the domestic market, he noted that not only in recent days, but also in recent months, none of the egg producers belonging to the association has raised prices:

"One box containing 360 eggs is offered to the seller at price of 53 manats, that is, the cost of one egg is 14.5 gapiks. This price is even 1 gapik cheaper than for the same term of 2022. Today, the daily egg production in Azerbaijan is approaching 5 million eggs, and the daily demand is about 3.6 million."
