December 14, Fineko/abc.az. As of October 2023, the national debt of the Republic of Armenia amounted to $11.116 bn.
ABC.AZ reports that the above-said statement was made by Tadevos Avetisyan, MP of the Armenia faction of the Armenian National Assembly and a member of the Supreme Body of the ARFD:
The pace of country’s economic growth is declining. The author stressed that under the influence of external factors caused by the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, it has become a reality that Armenia's high economic growth recorded in the previous two years is of short-term nature.
In particular, economic activity has been steadily declining since the 2nd quarter of this year. Over Jan-Sept 2022, GDP growth made up 12.3% versus Jan-Sept 2022, and in 2023, the comparable figure fell by 2.8%.
In October, growth of the Armenian economic activity index compared with October 2022 reached 17.5%, which subsequently tripled in 2023, making up 6% in October.
