Population’s costs on alcoholic beverages in first 3 quarters made public

November 6, Fineko/abc.az. The population of Azerbaijan increased spending on alcohol in the first three quarters of 2023.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that in the first three quarters of 2023, the country's population spent 198.18 million manats on alcoholic beverages.

This is 23% more than a year ago, considering that for the 2022 same term those figures amounted to 160.47 million manats.

Over the past three quarters, most of the country's population has spent money on vodka. Thus, vodka sales totaled 96.84 million mantas (23% more versus Jan-Sept 2022).

The second largest expense is beer - 33.26 million manats. The population was able to increase these expenses only by 5% year-on-year.
