November 3, Fineko/abc.az. WhatsApp messenger has prepared a new opportunity to protect from prying eyes — creating an alternative profile for those who are not in the circle of trusted persons.

ABC.AZ reports that this feature is already available in the beta version of WhatsApp 2.23.24.4 for Android.

In the beta version of the messenger, an alternative profile setting function has been discovered: you can set other images and a name to be displayed to those users who, according to the settings, cannot see the basic profile information. So, if the user has established that his main profile picture is available only to persons in the contact list, then an alternative picture will be shown to everyone else.

The new option will be a fairly effective protective measure against "uninvited guests", providing users with additional privacy. This feature will also come in handy if in the future the WhatsApp administration decides to implement a system of unified user names by analogy with Telegram. While the function is under development and will probably become publicly available in one of the future releases of the application, including the version for Apple iOS.
