Azerbaijan adopts state standard for halal medicines

November 2, Fineko/abc.az. The Azerbaijan Institute of Standardization, subordinate to the State Service for Antimonopoly Supervision & Consumer Market Control, has passed state standard AZS OIC/SMIIC 50-1:2023 "Halal Medicines – Part 1 – General Requirements", ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Azerbaijan Institute of Standardization (AZSTAND).

This standard defines the basic requirements for the manufacture and transportation of halal medicines based on Islamic rules and is intended for use by organizations specializing in this field. The standard will ensure the preservation of halal status in relation to halal medicines.

The state standard was officially agreed with the Center for Analytical Expertise of the Ministry of Health.
