October 27, Fineko/abc.az. Online retailer Amazon.com Inc. increased its net profit 3.4-fold in the third quarter of 2023.

ABC.AZ informs with reference to the company that its net profit in July-September amounted to $9.879 billion, or 94 cents per share, compared with $2.872 billion, or 28 cents per share, received for Q3 of 2022.

The result for the last quarter includes income from investments in the electric car manufacturer Rivian Automotive Inc. in the amount of $1.2 billion.

Amazon's revenue grew by 13% and reached $143.1 billion against $127.1 billion a year earlier.

Operating profit rose to $11.2 billion from $2.5 billion in 2022, which exceeded company's own forecast of $5.5-8.5 billion.

Abroad, the operating loss decreased to $95 million from $2.5 billion, and revenue increased by 16% to $32.1 billion.

Revenue of cloud service Amazon Web Services (AWS) grew by 12.3% and reached $23.06 billion.
