October 25, Fineko/abc.az. Russia plans to implement the Simplified Customs Corridor Project with Azerbaijan, Russian Federal Customs Service’s acting head Ruslan Davydov said.
ABC.AZ reports that Davydov noted in his column for RBC that he considers the reorientation of Russian trade to the countries of the East and South to be a "fait accompli".
In general, according to Service’s acting head, transport and logistics corridors East-West and North-South have been formed, cargo turnover on them has increased by 20-35%.
Davydov points out the need to activate projects to accelerate the movement of goods within the international agreements with friendly countries. Among the most promising projects, he calls the Simplified Customs Corridor with Azerbaijan, Iran, Syria, Uzbekistan, China and Turkey. The simplified customs corridor implies reduction in the administrative burden and frequency of application of customs control measures when declaring and releasing goods during their movement between the two countries that have concluded an agreement. The agreement may affect both all goods and their individual groups.
